Hillsborough Twp Station 37 Fire

At 5:15pm Station 37 along with the Hillsborough Fire District was dispatched to the 3 vehicle MVC at Amwell Rd. & East Mountain with entrapment. Prior to FD arrival all occupants self extricated from their vehicles. Units on scene secured the power to the vehicles and contained fluid spills.

This evening Station 37 had its monthly drill night at which time MVC victim extrication, lifting and stabilization was to be conducted. Shortly after starting the drill, Station 37 was requested to respond into Montgomery Township on the 2nd Alarm for a residential structure fire. Upon arrival Chief 37 was assigned Charlie Side Operations Chief. Tower Ladder 37 was subsequently requested to cover Montgomery Township with additional mutual companies.

I thought there was a fourth car that rear ended the red truck. It was a midsize white suv?

Hillsborough Twp Station 37 Fire

There were a lot lessons learned from Hurricane Ida. On multiple occasions members risked a lot to save a lot. Due to training and luck, all members safely returned to their families. We also know that two victims in Hillsborough unfortunately did not survive the storm and we remember them. Last night members Station 37, Flagtown Fire/Rescue - Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Co. #1, Hillsborough Fire Co. #3 - Station 38 Hillsborough Township Fire District drilled on simulated rescues of both ambulatory and non ambulatory victim rescues from submerged vehicles in flood waters. Thank you to IAFF Local 4897 Hillsborough Fire Marshals for assisting to facilitate this great training opportunity.

The attached video simulated a non ambulatory victim removal from a submerged damaged vehicle.
