Friday, July 22, 2016  Station 37 would like to send a big congratulations to one of its own, Firefighter Michael "MJ" Capps, who graduated from the United States Marine Corps bootcamp today in Paris Island, SC. He will be continuing his MOS training in North Carolina for military police. A few of Station 37's members have traveled to SC in support of our fellow brother. Firefighter Bartok will also be leaving for basic training at Paris Island next month. Congrats MJ! Grat job FF White-Bocchino - Kwaak and Bartok for making the trek to Parris Island.



Flea Market at Fire Co.2

Friday, July 22, 2016  The Ladies Auxiliary will be holding a Outdoor Flea Market during the year. The flea market will be located on the grounds of Hillsborough Fire Co.2 at 375 Route 206 across from TD Bank. Flea Market starts at 9am and goes into the afternoon as there are customers. There is sufficient parking on the grass and parking lot behind the fire house. Please do not park in coned off areas since this is an active driveway for firefighters responding to fire calls in the township. All proceeds benefit the Hillsborough Fire Co.2. Ladies Auxiliary Members Wanted

Friday, July 22, 2016  The Ladies Auxiliary is looking for new members to join this great organization. The Ladies do a great job supporting the firefighters of this company. They are a true asset to our company and members! A MESSAGE FROM DR. CHRISTINE BERJU - Ladies Auxiliary Publicity Committee Want to get out, meet people, help the firefighters and help the community? The Hillsborough Fire Company No.2 Ladies Auxiliary invites you to come to their next meeting at 800pm on the second Tuesday of each month (except December). The meetings take place in the conference room at the firehouse which is located at 375 Route 206 next door to Hillsborough Radiology and across the street from TD Bank. The meeting dates are July 12th-August 9th - Sept 13th - Oct 11th and Nov 8th. We welcome anyone interested in checking us out and would like to become a member. Good Luck FF Hiller aka Sweatz

Friday, July 22, 2016  Everyone at Station 37 would like to wish the best of luck to Jim "Sweatz" Hiller as he heads down to Flordia. Firefighter Hiller will be expanding his knowledge and be working to become a certified firefighter in the state of Flordia at the Flordia State Fire College. Upon graduation he will pursue a career with a fire department full-time. Thank you Sweatz for all you've done. We all support you with everything you want to do. You are always welcome back to your second home here in Hillsborough anytime.

Training Day in Hot Conditions

Friday, July 22, 2016  This evening 20+ members from Station 37 trained at an acquired vacant structure on Amwell Rd. Despite the heat outside crews practiced on vertical ventilation using Echo and K12 saws, search & rescue in a smoke-filled environment, overhaul and reduced profile egress. Members also performed field testing with MSA G1 air packs and a new model of MSA thermal imaging camera. Thanks to all of you that dedicated your Thursday night to attend this unique training opportunity.



Fire Suppression Drill for Firefighters

Thursday, July 21, 2016  This evening about a dozen members took advantage of the beautiful weather and decided to take the Thursday night training session on the road, working on water supply, aerial operations, pumping and hydrant work. Special Thank you to ExChief Jim Paterno, ExChief Nick Speciale and Captain Rich Crater for taking the time out to train and qualify two new apparatus operators. Training Crews were interrupted for an odor of smoke run at a local salon on Route 206- Chief Bartolucci - Deputy Chief Shaffer and Assistant Chief Patton along with the crew from E-37/2 responded but were able to quickly return and finish their drilling.



Major Brush Fire for District

Tuesday, July 19, 2016  At approx noon today units from the Hillsborough Fire District as well as Montgomery Station 45 and the NJ Forest Fire Service responded to a large field fire off East Mountain Rd. in 36's primary. About 11 acres burned as well as farm equipment and some wooded area before crews were able to contain the blaze. Station 37 responded with E-37 with a full crew. Great work by all those involved to control the fire and prevent further spread.



Drill Night for Station 37

Tuesday, July 19, 2016  On Tuesday evening 30 members from Stations 36 & 37 attended a walkthrough at the Aeropres facility located on Valley Rd. Members discussed our preplans, firefighting operations, plant operations and other valuable information. A follow-up drill conducting a hands-on evolution will be scheduled in the fall. Thanks to all that attended this training session and a special thanks to Pat and the Aeropres staff for always working with the Station 37 and the Fire District.



Probies Graduate

Friday, July 15, 2016  Congratulations to Probationary Firefighters Tom Jess, Chris Johnson, Zack Johnson and Matt Kulcsar on their graduation last night from the Somerset County Emergency Services Training Academy spring semester of Firefighter 1, a 190-hour course designed to teach the basics of firefighting for new members in the fire service. Pictured below are Matt, Tom and Zack - Chris is proudly serving his country as part of the National Guard, having left for basic training earlier this month. We're extremely proud of you guys and your dedication balancing school, work and family during the last 6 months while attending this class!
